How COVID-19 is Affecting APR Achievement
Robert E. Sheldon, APR, Fellow PRSA
Accreditation Chair
[email protected]
If you’re one of dozens within our chapter who has started the journey towards your APR accreditation, you’re probably finding our current pandemic quite troublesome. Online study has not been affected, but one-on-one meetings with mentors or in-person study groups have been indefinitely postponed.
In addition, those ready to take their online APR test have been unable to schedule their test due to temporary closure of the testing sites. In many cases, this has resulted in a loss of momentum for more than a few APR candidates.
But, not to worry, help is at hand. If you’re ready to make your presentation to the Readiness Review Panel as the first step in the APR process, we’re prepared to have you present via Zoom. Simply contact me via email to get your virtual panel presentation scheduled.
In addition, PRSA is close to announcing a new APR online testing option that will allow candidates to take the online test at their office or home – while still providing the security needed to guarantee fair and honest testing. Watch your email, this newsletter or the chapter’s APR Facebook page for the announcement about the optional new APR testing system.
In the meantime, don’t let the current situation stifle your efforts to achieve your APR. Plan your work and work your plan. Together, we’ll help you succeed.
