Meet our Newest APR - Fran Stephenson
Fran Stephenson, APR, has recently become an accredited member of the public relations profession by successfully completing a comprehensive examination governed by the Universal Accreditation Board.
The Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations measures a candidate’s knowledge, skills and abilities in the practice of public relations, including communication theory, management science and ethics.
Accreditation is a formal credentialing process for the public relations professional, and Stephenson now joins an elite group of more than 4,300 active accredited practitioners in the United States and abroad.
“The accreditation process is designed to provide a standard of knowledge and an ideal model for achieving optimum success in our profession,” said Michelle Baker, APR, accreditation chair for the San Antonio Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). “Fran’s achievement is an affirmation of her skills and knowledge in the industry.”
Fran has extensive experience in the communications field. Currently, she serves as principle of Step In Communication and an adjunct faculty member at Northwest Vista College. Previously, she served as director of corporate communications for Rackspace Hosting and director of communications for SeaWorld San Antonio. Fran holds a master’s degree in Communications Studies from St. Mary’s University and a bachelor’s degree in Consumer Science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
