Meet our newest APR

Bruce Forey, APR, communications manager at GVTC, has recently become an accredited member of the public relations profession by successfully completing a comprehensive examination governed by the Universal Accreditation Board.

The Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations measures a candidate’s knowledge, skills and abilities in the practice of public relations, including communication theory, management science, and ethics.

Accreditation is a formal credentialing process for the public relations professional, and Forey now joins an elite group of more than 4,300 active Accreditation practitioners in the United States and abroad.

“The accreditation process is designed to provide a standard of knowledge and an ideal model for achieving optimum success in our profession,” said Monica Faulkenbery, APR, Accreditation Chairperson for the San Antonio Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). “Forey’s achievement is an affirmation of his skills and knowledge in the industry.”

Forey has been an employee with GVTC the past seven years directing the company’s internal, external, philanthropic and social media communication. Forey also worked in the broadcast news industry for 11 years as an anchor and reporter. He also has experience in media sales.
