The San Antonio Chapter of PRSA is holding a three-hour information session on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the NISD Central Office Board Room, 5900 Evers Road. There is a $20 charge which pays for a study booklet that you will receive.

Start your new year off right by investing in yourself!

2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the Accredited in Public Relations (APR). You may have questions about the APR and what it could do for your career. After 50 years, the APR remains the only nationally-recognized certification of the public relations profession.

The APR is a rigorous voluntary certification program that tests a public relations professional’s knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) in more than 40 areas ranging from research, planning, program evaluation, business literacy, ethics, management skills and more. Candidates must pass a rigorous computer-based Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations after being evaluated by a panel of peers.

Interested? Learn from local APRs on what it takes to get started (including more information on the APR+M available for military public affairs professionals), as well as going over some of the KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities) covered in the exam.

If interested or want to sign up, contact chapter APR Chairs Monica Faulkenbery at [email protected] and Michelle Baker at [email protected]
