A grand opening, an anniversary or special occasion may seem like a one-off event, but how do you use that milestone to achieve larger goals? Milestone events present an opportunity to create strategic campaigns to spur target audiences into action.

Placing that milestone at the center of an integrated marketing communication campaign creates the opportunity to align events, marketing, communications and more to build transformative momentum to reach communications and marketing goals.So what do you do before, during and after that milestone to transform it into a platform to reach your communication goals?

Join Janet Holliday, president and CEO of The CE Group, as she moderates a panel highlighting recent milestone communication successes in San Antonio.

Katye Brought

Katye Brought is the director of Communications at the Witte Museum where she oversees the Communications and Marketing team. She recently played a pivotal role in the public relations strategy for the $100 million renovation and expansion of the Witte Museum - a project so profound it is called the “New Witte”. She coordinates media and marketing outreaches, and works hard at developing a personal relationship with state and local press. Moving forward, Katye is spearheading efforts to raise awareness of the Witte as a top tier museum on a national level. She feels honored to be a part of the opening team of San Antonio’s world class museum on Broadway, in the City’s emerging cultural corridor. Before working at the Witte, Katye served as the Director of Public Relations and Marketing at the City of Windcrest.


Carino Cortez

Chef Cariño Cortez, Special Projects Manager for La Familia Cortez Restaurants, is a third-generation Cortez family member and food enthusiast. She started her career in the family business as a young teenager and has worked nearly every job in the restaurants, following her father and grandfather into the family business. Combining her passion for cooking and her knowledge of the business, Cariño served as the project manager and opening chef of Viva Villa Taquería, the newest concept in La Familia Cortez Restaurants’ portfolio that opened to rave reviews in 2015, and helped the family celebrate Mi Tierra Café y Panadería’s stunning 75th anniversary last year. 

 

Melissa C. Krause

Melissa C. Krause is the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications for CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System, which includes five hospitals, four physician ambulatory surgery centers, and a broad network of adult and pediatric health related facilities, including The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. She develops and oversees the System’s marketing and communication planning and budgeting for the Catholic, faith based, not-for-profit health system, and oversees all aspects of CHRISTUS’ brand related efforts, including The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio “transformation” and the successful opening of its new lobby and much more.

Janet Holliday is the President and CEO of The CE Group, an experience-based marketing firm. For the last 27 years, Janet has lead The CE Group, bringing events, communication and marketing to life for clients across San Antonio, throughout Texas and nationally. Janet’s name is synonymous with many of the Alamo City’s premier projects, significant milestones and grand openings, where organizations seek her creative expertise and leadership to create compelling events and campaigns – campaigns where she champions public relations as a key component to help organizations achieve their goals. 

Janet was recognized as the PRSA San Antonio Del Oro Public Relations Professional of the Year and honored with the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas Trefoil Award in 2016. She received the “Con Corazon” award from the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau for her tireless promotion of our terrific city in 2014. She is an active community and civic leader with a focus in children’s charities, cancer causes and health and wellness initiatives, giving her time to numerous organizations as she works to highlight San Antonio and the wonderful organizations that make up this vibrant city.
